Mercury Information Security Services (Mercury) are a leading provider of information security services, advice, and consulting in Australia. Since its inception in 2015, Mercury has provided traditional cyber security services with a focus on customer service to meet the changing requirements of the Australian market.

Mercury started as a group of pen-testers’ looking for better ways to simplify information security. Today we democratise technology for businesses, enabling vulnerability assessments and digital security to be afforded by even the smallest of organisations. Since 2022, the organisation has expanded into other domains including research, architecture and specific government services such as the Australian Government’s InfoSec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). The organisation remains focused on its approach to independence, threat centricity and providing trusted services.

Our Story: Translating Mythology into Cybersecurity

Rooted in historical symbolism, Mercury Information Security Systems takes its name from the Roman God Mercury. The choice of name is deliberate and multi-faceted, representing our brand's ethos, principles, and ambitions. In Roman mythology, Mercury is a diverse figure, renowned as the messenger of the gods and the patron of commerce, eloquence, communication, financial gain, travellers, and boundaries. This multidimensionality echoes our comprehensive approach to providing exceptional cybersecurity solutions.

Mercury's role as the gods' messenger underscores our emphasis on precise communication. We simplify complex findings, offering comprehensible, practical insights. We guide our clients through industry-standard recommendations, translating cybersecurity lingo into easily digestible dialogues. The reference to Mercury as the god of commerce and financial gain symbolises our commitment to securing our client's financial interests in an increasingly digital world.
